Clark Street is a short residential terrace at the centre of St Jude's parish. Over eighteen months the residents' working party has agreed a set of small, incremental changes — a closer reading of the inset above. None of the items below are final; this page is updated after every monthly meet.

"Trees, planters, benches, a noticeboard. A street is the slowest infrastructure we share." — from the May residents' meet

Already agreed

Sheet 24.A — items now settled.

  1. A 20 mph entry zone at both ends of the street, signed and surface-marked.
  2. Footway repairs along the south pavement, completed March 2026.
  3. Annual residents' meet confirmed for the evening of 7 June 2026.

In motion this year

What's being worked on now.

  1. Five new street trees (T1–T5), south footway, target planting October 2026.
  2. Three volunteer-built planters (P1–P3), north footway, workday to be confirmed.
  3. A new noticeboard (N) on the south-side wall, pending permission from the freeholder.

Open questions

Still being talked out.

  1. Bench placement — between the trees, or nearer the noticeboard?
  2. Planting day — a single Saturday in October, or split across two weekends?
  3. Should we apply for a Play Street day in summer 2027?

How to chip in

Volunteer planter build

Workday TBC

Two sessions · timber donated · all tools provided

Help build the three street planters (P1–P3) from reclaimed timber. No prior experience required — there will be people who know what they're doing.

Tree-watering rota

All summer

15 minutes per week, per tree, June–September

New trees (T1–T5) need watering through their first two summers. Adopt one or more by emailing the working party.

Residents' meet, 7 June

Corner of Clark & Pell · open to all residents

Agenda: working plan v0.3, this year's planting list, and the open question on bench placement. Bring a chair if you can.
